Consumer Fraud
New Jersey has adopted the most consumer-friendly laws in
the United States. These laws are found in New Jersey's Consumer
Fraud Act. If you or a loved one has become a victim to consumer
fraud it is important to know your rights. New Jersey has
adopted laws that protect consumers who purchase goods or
services generally sold to the public at large. This includes
work done on your house by home improvement contractors. If you
retain a home improvement contractor to make improvements and/or
repairs to your residential or noncommercial property, you are
entitled to the protections of New Jersey's Consumer Fraud Act.
Criminal Law
Hiring an attorney for a criminal matter can be, and often
is, the most important decision a person makes in his or her
lifetime. A good and caring attorney is your representative in
the justice system. Good representation can be the difference
between jail/prison and freedom or a shorter sentence.
Immigration
U.S. Immigration Laws provide a method for a U.S. Citizen or a
lawful permanent resident (LPR) to sponsor the immigration of a
family member abroad. The ease and speed in which this can be
accomplished depends on the relationship of the family members,
whether the sponsor is a U.S. Citizen or an LPR, and, sometimes,
the country where the family member is located.
Family unification has traditionally received favored status
under U.A. immigration laws. Under the Immigration and
Nationality Acts, family relationships involving spouses,
parents, children, and siblings provide a basis for conveying
immigration benefits. To learn more on the rules and procedures
for sponsoring a family member for permanent residence (Green
Card status), download our Family-Sponsored Immigration brochure.
