$1.65 Million Settlement Reached for Injuries Sustained After Collision on Summit Ave, Jersey City

Premier catastrophic injury firm reaches settlement against HD Supply
HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ (November 4, 2024) – A $1.65 million settlement has been reached by Lynch Law Firm (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) for a woman who was seriously injured after a vehicular accident on March 16, 2020.
Barbara Bertolini, a 68-year-old New Jersey resident, was in the passenger seat of a parked car on Summit Avenue in Jersey City when a truck operated by Hector Baires of HD Supply, Inc., sideswiped the vehicle causing serious bodily harm. Suffering from neck, back and knee pain, Bertolini engaged in a course of extensive treatment at Palisade Medical Center. Bertolini’s injuries included tears to her labral and meniscus, as well as grave aggravation to existing back and neck issues Bertolini suffered prior and was actively treating. Additionally, Bertolini underwent cervical and lumbar surgeries.
Bertolini was represented by Jacqueline Rosa, a certified civil trial attorney for premier New Jersey law firm, Lynch Law Firm, whose practice focuses in personal and catastrophic injury cases. Supplemented with the plaintiff’s doctor and billing experts, Rosa presented that Bertolini had suffered permanent damage as well as required future life card needed. The case was set for trial in July of 2024 but the parties were able to reach a settlement prior to putting Ms. Bertolini through further stress from the traumatic event.
